Wow, this year has been so busy. When I saw that Christmas will be here so soon, I knew I needed to get this letter out to you. Mrs. Claus reminded me how little time we have left. So I needed to rush this to you as soon as possible.
As you know, (insert child’s name), I check the Naughty and Nice List twice each year. On my second time through, (insert child’s name), I noticed that your name was missing from the Nice List. You know how much I love traveling the world giving out gifts to all the good boys and girls. I would love nothing more than to bring you some amazing gifts on Christmas, too. However, (insert child’s name), your recent behavior has been disappointing.
Sadly, being on the Naughty List means I have to bring coal to put into your stocking. You can’t even imagine how much I dislike passing out coal. The black dust gets all over everything and makes such a mess. I know that you can be a good (insert gender). So, help me keep things from getting really messy, alright? I have heard that you are wanting (insert gifts) this Christmas season. I am going to be in (insert city and state), and I want nothing more than to be able to bring you what you have asked for.
Your parents have told me that you (insert accomplishments). In an effort to help you reclaim your rightful place on the Nice List, I am writing you personally, to tell you that I believe in you. I know you can be a good (insert gender) for your parents. I believe you have it in you to get back on the Nice List. Please try your best. I am sure that you will be able to fix this little problem. If you need to, ask your (insert acquaintance), (insert acquaintance name) for some pointers. I know that (insert acquaintance gender) can probably help.
Well, sadly, I have a few more letters like this one to write. But, (insert child’s name), I know I can count on you to make good choices, so we can switch you to the Nice List. You have a wonderful holiday season, and I look forward to seeing you on Christmas Eve…coal or presents. It’s up to you.
Your friend always,
